Dr. A K Enamul Haque

Professor Dr. A. K. Enamul Haque has officially joined the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) as its Director General on 20 March. He succeeds Dr. Binayak Sen. Prior to that, Dr. Haque was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus. He is an environmental economist with extensive experience in teaching and research within the field of climate change, agriculture, and urban issues in developing countries with a focus on South Asia in general and Bangladesh in particular. He worked with various national and international organizations, including the World Bank, IUCN, Save the Children, IFC, SANDEE, SANEI, UNDP and GIZ. His academic journey began at the University of Chittagong, where he earned his MSS in Economics and BSS (Hon's) in Economics. He completed his doctoral degree from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada in Natural Resource Economics. He is also a National Trainer on (a) Log frame (b) Cost Benefit Analysis (c) Feasibility Analysis & Public Policy
